We had an excellent turnout for our October tea this evening at Parkside, with over fifty people coming along.
As a change, we’d arranged the tables differently to how we normally have them set out and opted to effectively have two long tables down the main hall (each four tables long). Not only did this seem to create more space, it also made it easier for people to talk to each other, rather than everyone being on separate ‘islands’.
We were able to welcome back a number of old friends as well as meet new ones and it was great to catch up with them all again. In addition, we enjoyed a good selection of food, as well as some excellent cakes!
After the tea, we sung a few of the popular children’s choices from Sunday Club and Kids’ Club, finishing with one from the adults – I do not know what lies ahead.
Alan then gave a brief talk from Ecclesiastes based around the seed, to link in with harvest.
Everyone seemed to be in agreement that the evening had been very enjoyable and the new layout had worked well.
