Christmas. It soon comes around again, with all the lights, presents, turkey and dear old Father Christmas! But how often do we spare a minute to think about how it all started and what it really is that we’re celebrating?
This year at Parkside, we’ll be turning back the pages of history to look at what happened that first Christmas as told through the eyes of those who actually watched it unfold.
Join us on Sundays in December at 4.30pm as we examine that first Christmas and discover that the message brought by the angels is as relevant today as it was 2000 years ago.
Perspectives of Christmas from the people involved:
Dec 2 – Mary
Dec 9 – Joseph
Dec 16 – Shepherds
Dec 23 – Wise Men
All four services will last around 45 minutes and will include carols, a quiz and a short talk and will be followed by coffee and mince pies.
We also have our main Carols by Candlelight service on Christmas Eve at 4.30pm as well as a carol service on Christmas morning at 10.30am.
Finally, on 22nd December at 7pm, we host the annual Carol Service for Young People. Aimed primarily as a carol service for those young people who attend Thames Valley Christian Camps, this is also open to all young people.
