Tonight, we have the first of our winter conferences and are pleased to have Sandy Jack with us. Sandy's subject is 'Separation to the Lord.

Sandy begins by looking at verses from 1 John. John talks about God's character. He is pure and holy. God is light.

1 John is about fellowship. The primary objective for every new Christian is to get to know God.

We are all sinners. We can only walk closely with God on the basis of what He has done for us, rather than what we can do for Him.

As Christians, God has given us eternal life through His Son, the Lord Jesus. We must accept Him as Saviour before we can walk with God.

When we became Christians, we became separated to God's family in a relationship which can never be broken.

Even though as Christians, we still sin, it cannot affect our relationship with God, but it can affect our fellowship with Him and others.

Sandy turns to 1 Corinthians 6:11. As Christians we 'were washed, we were sanctified, we were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus..'

1 Corinthians 6:12 tells us that we still have a choice to do anything, but not everything is beneficial or helpful to us spiritually.

1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We should use them to honour God.

In John 17, we eavesdrop on a prayer of Jesus. Verse 17 tells us we have the Bible 'as truth' to help keep us close to God.
